BECOME A MILLER-CORY VOLUNTEER?
Do you love history? Like to cook or to garden? Enjoy working with children? Then the Miller-Cory House Museum is the perfect place to volunteer! The Miller-Cory House Museum is operated by a core of volunteers dedicated to preserving the house as a living museum. Numerous and varied opportunities for involvement are available.
MILLER-CORY DOCENTS Don a costume and interpret colonial life for museum visitors, either on Sundays or for school tours during the week.
MILLER-CORY COOKS Learn how to cook authentic 18th century recipes over the open hearth. The Miller-Cory cooks demonstrate this art for visitors during Sunday hours.
CRAFT DEMONSTRATIONS The museum's Showcase of 18th Century Skills visits area schools during the week in order to demonstrate colonial crafts to school children.
SUNDAY PROGRAMS Special programs are presented to the public during Sunday hours. Volunteers can develop and present programs or just assist.
GROUNDS Help maintain authentic colonial herb, dye, vegetable and sensory gardens.
GIFT SHOP Assist in the museum's gift shop, which is open during Sunday hours and school tours.
TOLL KEEPER Volunteer toll keepers collect admission fees and keep track of numbers of visitors during Sunday hours.
FULL TRAINING IS PROVIDED!
NO MINIMUM COMMITMENT OF TIME IS REQUIRED!
